THE CREEK
On Thursday the 14th of April we all went down to The Creek (which is really a river). At The Creek we went for a one hour cruise on an Abra. An Abra is a boat they use in Dubai like a water taxi to get across the creek. On the Abra we saw lots of things like a funny Water Bus, much bigger boats and lots of different buildings.
After we had been on the Abra we went to the Souks. These are the markets. Firstly we went to the Textile Souks. We bought lots and lots of things there. We got all our things quite cheaply because we did lots of bartering. Tyler and Tahli really liked bartering. There were also lots of things to see there. After we had looked around we went and got lunch. We found a restaurant that was next to the water. It was called Bait Al Wakeel. Tyler got Tiger prawns that were the dearest on the menu (well, we are pretty sure they were) and he didn't like them very much so Dad ate them. Tahli got a grape juice that was freshly squeezed. Dad got a non-alcoholic beer which came from Holland. And Mum got grilled Squid.
After the Textile Souks we went to the Gold Souks. Well mum did anyway. Dad, Tyler and Tahli went and bought more things. Mum just had a look in the Gold Souks and plans to go and buy things later.
MAGIC PLANET
On Friday the 15th of April we all went to Deira City Centre. In Deira there is a big games centre called Magic Planet. We got to go on as many rides for the day as we wanted to because we bought a card that let us do that. Tahli went on almost every ride. Tyler went on about four rides. Tyler was continuously going on the dodgem cars. After we had been in there, we went and got lunch. Tahli had a hot dog and a chocolate milkshake. Tyler got a hot dog, some prawn kebabs and a lemonade.
After lunch we went back into Magic Planet for a bit. Later on we went into a shop and bought some things. Tahli & Dad bought some swimming goggles and Mum bought some shoes and a handbag. Then we went into another shop and Tahli bought a pretty dress.
JUMEIRAH BEACH
On Saturday the 16th of April we had a day at the beach. We caught a taxi to the Jumeirah Beach Park. Before we did anything we hired a beach umbrella and a chair. In the background of the photo on the bottom with Mum, Tahli and Tyler there are lots and lots of beach umbrellas. At the beach we did lots of things. First we went swimming in the water. The water was very salty and not very warm at all. Dad said it was very easy to float from all the salt. We swam out very far. We actually swam out to the bouys. After we had been swimming we built a sand castle. It was very big. Then we had lunch. Tyler and Tahli had a hot dog. After lunch we went for a walk and then for a bit of a swim. Finally we went home. We had a great day. We all hope we get to go back.
